In a decisive step to support women-led businesses, Aurora James and SheaMoisture are strengthening their efforts to uplift Black women entrepreneurs with an expanded fellowship program. This initiative focuses on providing access, education, and resources for emerging business leaders.

The Dartmouth Fellowship, which has been quietly supporting women for over a decade, is now scaling up. This year, 20 women will participate in a week-long executive business program at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business in Hanover, New Hampshire. Half of the fellows will be selected through open applications, while the remaining will be chosen by James and her Fifteen Percent Pledge team.

Aurora James, the founder of the Fifteen Percent Pledge, emphasized that meaningful support requires consistency and long-term engagement. “Providing one-time support isn’t enough. Real change comes from sustained investment in Black women entrepreneurs,” James said. SheaMoisture, a brand known for its commitment to diversity and inclusion, celebrates the fellowship’s 10th anniversary by increasing resources and mentorship opportunities for participants.

The fellowship offers more than classroom instruction. Fellows gain access to networks of experienced entrepreneurs, mentorship opportunities, and practical business tools. Over the past decade, alumni have reported measurable growth in their businesses, including revenue increases and stronger operational foundations.

This initiative is particularly significant given the current economic climate, where many diversity pledges have faltered. By combining training, mentorship, and community, the fellowship aims to equip participants with skills and networks that create lasting impact.

Applications for the 2025 cohort close on October 10, with the program running from December 7–12, 2025. Fellows will learn essential business skills, including finance, operations, and strategic planning, with full support from SheaMoisture and the Fifteen Percent Pledge team.

Aurora James describes the fellowship as more than a training program—it’s infrastructure for long-term growth and equity in entrepreneurship. By focusing on sustainable support, mentorship, and practical business education, the initiative offers Black women entrepreneurs the tools to thrive, even in challenging economic times.
