A leading U.S. technology company headquartered in Silicon Valley announced today the launch of a global mentoring and leadership programme designed specifically for women in technology roles. The initiative, dubbed Women Lead Global, will partner with universities and tech hubs in Europe, Asia and Latin America to provide mentorship, scholarships and career advancement tracks for female engineers, data scientists and product leaders.
The company’s Chief Diversity Officer noted that despite improvements in recent years, women still hold less than 25 % of senior engineering roles globally in major tech firms. “We are committed to changing this,” she stated. “Talent is global. Opportunity should be too.”
More than 500 women across 30 countries have already been selected for the first cohort. Early participants highlighted how difficult it has been to gain access to leadership mentorship, especially in regions where women in STEM face cultural and institutional barriers.
By creating a cross-continent pipeline of support for women in technology, the programme signals a shift in how global companies view talent and inclusion. If sustained, it may help raise the bar for gender representation in one of the world’s fastest-changing industries.
