The Delhi government has launched a new scheme to support women entrepreneurs by providing collateral-free loans of up to ₹10 crore to women-led startups and self-help groups (SHGs), officials said. Under the plan, the government itself will act as the guarantor for these loans to make it easier for women entrepreneurs to access institutional credit and grow their businesses.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the initiative during the two-day Mega Self-Help Group (SHG) Mela-2026 in Rohini, where women from various sectors showcased products like handicrafts, khadi items, household goods and food products made by SHGs and women-led ventures. Gupta said the aim is to boost women’s economic independence and entrepreneurship in the national capital.
In addition to the loan support, the government plans to offer dedicated retail space in malls and large shopping complexes across Delhi to help women entrepreneurs bring locally made and indigenous products to broader markets. Officials believe this combined financial and marketing support will help women scale up their startups and expand employment opportunities.
